Paintings
I‘ve spent a lot of time absorbing the influence of the Bauhaus and minimalist painting. In particular, the works of Josef Albers made a huge impact on my thinking. One of his associates, Sewell Sillman, was a professor I studied with at the Rhode Island School of Design. This isne’t a style I come by naturally. I found my way here after trying lots of styles.

This piece was done for friends of ours who have been asking me for a long time for one of my paintings. I worked from a small study I had done some years ago. The result is quite a bit different but the larger scale led to changes in both the composition and the palette choices.
