Cutting into linoleum blocks is a technique I have worked on a bit. Just because of the material, prints tend to be very rough looking and full of lines.

Unlike a lot of linocut styles, I have taken a more minimalist approach. I try to keep lines to a minimum and emphasize color relationships to give a sense of space.

I wanted to get a sense of transparency to the colors. So, I chose a compositional format that was simple and wouldn’t distract from the color dynamics.
