Welcome to my website.
I make art from shapes, lines and colors. I play around with them. Eventually, I get to a place that feels good to me. And, I hope, for you as well.

Modernist art my inspiration. I get suck delight in clean lines, flat color and open spaces. I move back and forth between mediums as I experiment with these elements. My background is animation has a way of poking through, perhaps in a sense of movement and simplification.
I love the Bauhaus, modernist artists and the landscapes of Los Angeles.
The book Interaction of Color by Josef Albers taught me an enormous amount about how color works.. Using an X-acto knife and rubber cement to make these little studies. I created many of them when I was at the Rhode Island School of Design. My teacher, Sewell Sillman, was one of Albers’ associates.

I made these studies using Color-Aid paper. It’s an amazing tool for graphic design explorations.

This piece was drawin on my iphone using an app called Concepts.
What I like about the app is that it gives me the ability to overlap and alter the size of each group of marks I make. For me, this gives the feeling of the changing environment that envelops you as the hiking path changes.
I also look a lot at Blue Note album covers from the 1950’s and 1960’s. Just so super cool.
